Three questions, one strong statement
From 2026 entry, the personal statement is split into three separate, mandatory questions — with 4,000 characters shared across all three (minimum 350 each). The questions are:

What's changed about the UCAS personal statement?
From 2026 entry onwards, the personal statement is no longer one long essay — it's three separate, mandatory questions. You still have 4,000 characters in total across all three answers (the questions themselves don't count), with a minimum of 350 characters per answer. The three questions are: why you want to study the course; how your studies have prepared you; and what else you've done outside education and why it's useful.
Do you write the personal statement for me?
No — and you shouldn't want us to. UCAS checks every statement for similarity and AI-generated content, so it must be genuinely yours. When should I start?
