Beyond Tutors is operated by Beyond Groups (a sole proprietorship registered in India, Patna, Bihar, India). This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use thebeyondtutors.com or book lessons with us, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We work with many students under 18, so we keep what we collect to the minimum needed to arrange and deliver tutoring.

Who is responsible for your data

Beyond Groups is the data controller (UK GDPR) and data fiduciary (India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023) for personal data collected through this website and our tutoring service. Contact us about anything in this policy at support@thebeyondtutors.com.

What we collect

  • Details you send in our booking, contact, referral and testimonial forms: usually the parent's name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, the student's level, subjects and goals, and any message you write.
  • Messages you send us on WhatsApp or by email.
  • Testimonials, photos or videos you choose to submit, with your consent.
  • Information shared during lessons that a tutor needs to teach well, such as school, exam board, target grades and progress notes.
  • Basic website usage data collected by Google Analytics 4: pages visited, approximate location (country/city), device and browser type. This uses cookies.

How we use it

We rely on your consent and on the steps needed to provide the service you asked for. We never sell your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising profiles.

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a free trial lesson.
  • To match your child with a suitable tutor and plan and deliver lessons.
  • To send lesson reminders, progress updates and invoices.
  • With your consent, to publish testimonials on our website and social media.
  • To understand how the website is used so we can improve it.

Who we share it with

Only with the services needed to run Beyond Tutors: Netlify (website hosting and form submissions), Google (Analytics, and email/video tools where used), Meta (WhatsApp messages), and the tutor assigned to your child. These providers may store data outside your country, including in the USA, under their own data-protection safeguards. We share data with authorities only where the law requires it or where a child's safety is at risk (see our Safeguarding policy).

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't become lessons are deleted within 12 months. Records for families we teach are kept while lessons continue and for up to 2 years afterwards, unless the law (for example, tax rules for invoices) requires longer. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, withdraw consent (for example, for a published testimonial), or object to how we use it. Email support@thebeyondtutors.com and we'll respond within one month. In the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in India, to the Data Protection Board.

Children's data

Where a student is under 18, we deal with a parent or guardian for bookings and consent. We don't knowingly collect data directly from children through this website without a parent's involvement.

Cookies

We use Google Analytics cookies only to measure website traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.

Changes

We'll update this page if how we handle data changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
