In short
The WACE (Western Australian Certificate of Education) is WA's senior-secondary certificate, set by SCSA, and TISC calculates the ATAR from Year 12 ATAR course results. ATAR courses run as Units 1–4 across Years 11 and 12, and Year 12 students sit ATAR exams in October and November, combined 50:50 with their school marks. Our one-to-one online WACE tutoring starts from A$55 per hour, after a free trial lesson.

How the WACE works
Your school mark and your ATAR exam carry equal weight in Year 12 — so we plan for school assessments as well as the exams.
- The WACE is awarded by SCSA, the School Curriculum and Standards Authority.
- ATAR courses run as Units 1 & 2 in Year 11 and Units 3 & 4 in Year 12.
- In Year 12, the moderated school mark and the ATAR exam mark are combined 50:50.
- Methods and Specialist exams have a calculator-free section and a calculator-assumed section.
- TISC calculates your ATAR from your Year 12 ATAR course results.
- The WACE also has literacy and numeracy requirements, which many students meet through the OLNA.

WACE tutoring questions
Do you tutor WACE and ATAR courses online?
Yes. All lessons are live, one-to-one and online, so we work with students across Western Australia — Perth, Fremantle, Mandurah, Bunbury and regional WA.
Which WACE courses do you tutor?
ATAR Mathematics Methods, Specialist and Applications, Mathematics Essential, plus ATAR Physics, Chemistry, Human Biology and Biology. We also support Years 9–10 maths and OLNA numeracy.
Can you help with school assessments?
Yes — we teach the content and skills each assessment tests, run timed practice and give feedback on practice work. We don't complete assessed work for students; it has to be their own.
Do you prepare students for both exam sections?
Yes. Methods and Specialist exams have a calculator-free and a calculator-assumed section, and we train both — including efficient calculator use.
When do WACE lessons take place?
We schedule in Perth time (AWST), with after-school, evening and weekend slots so lessons fit around a full school day.
How much does a WACE tutor cost?
Lessons start from A$55 per hour for Years 9–10 and A$65 per hour for Year 12 ATAR courses, with the plan tailored after a free trial lesson. There's no payment for the trial.
