In short
The VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) is Victoria's senior-secondary certificate, set by the VCAA, and VTAC uses VCE study scores to calculate the ATAR. Students take Units 1–4 across Years 11 and 12, with School-assessed Coursework (SACs) during the year and end-of-year exams in October and November. Our one-to-one online VCE tutoring starts from A$55 per hour, after a free trial lesson.

How the VCE works
Your Units 3 & 4 study scores come from both SACs during the year and the end-of-year exams — so we plan for both.
- The VCE is awarded by the VCAA, the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
- Each study runs as Units 1–4; Units 3 & 4 are taken as a sequence and lead to a study score out of 50.
- Units 3 & 4 combine School-assessed Coursework (SACs) with end-of-year exams.
- VTAC calculates your ATAR, which must include a study from the English group.
- Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics each have a technology-free exam and a technology-active (CAS) exam.
- We check the current VCAA study design for your subject before the first lesson.

VCE tutoring questions
Do you tutor the VCE online?
Yes. All lessons are live, one-to-one and online, so we work with students across Victoria — Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and regional Victoria — with no travel involved.
Which VCE studies do you tutor?
Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics and General Mathematics, plus Physics, Chemistry and Biology, from Units 1 & 2 through to Units 3 & 4. We also support Years 9–10 maths and science.
Can you help with SACs?
Yes — we teach the content and skills each SAC tests, run timed practice and give feedback on practice work. We don't complete assessed work for students; SACs have to be their own.
Do you teach CAS calculator skills?
Yes. Methods and Specialist have a technology-active exam, so we build CAS skills alongside the maths — and train the tech-free exam just as carefully.
When do VCE lessons take place?
We schedule in Melbourne time (AEST/AEDT), with after-school, evening and weekend slots so lessons fit around a full school day.
How much does a VCE tutor cost?
Lessons start from A$55 per hour for Years 9–10 and A$65 per hour for Units 3 & 4, with the plan tailored after a free trial lesson. There's no payment for the trial.
